Medal is approximately 0.50” in diameter.
Saint Jude is the patron saint of lost or forgotten causes, as well as hospitals and hospital workers.
St. Jude, also known as Thaddeus, was a cousin of Jesus and, along with his brother James the Less, became one of Christ’s 12 Apostles. He preached the Gospel in Judea, Samaria, Idumaea, Syria, Mesopotamia, and Lybia before returning to assist his brother, St. Simeon, become Bishop of Jerusalem in 62 A.D. He also wrote an epistle warning the Jewish converts against the heresies of the Simonians, Nicolaites, and Gnostics. It is believed that St. Jude was martyred in the Armenian region of the Persian Empire in the 1st century, clubbed to death before being beheaded.
St. Jude medals make an inspirational gift for those who work in a hospital, like doctors and nurses.
